ITINERARY


Day 1: Arrivals

Guest after undergoing immigration checks at the Kotoka International Airport are greeted to a warm welcome by our guide at the airport. Our guests are now taken to a comfortable hotel within Accra to relax after several hours of flight. At the hotel, guests are given orientation about the tour schedule and brief about life in Ghana. If there's time depending on when guest arrive in Ghana, you can be taken out to familiarise with life in the capital and enjoy your first Ghanaian meal before retreating to your hotel.


Day 2: Accra City Tour

Start your day with a visit to Jamestown lighthouse fishing village, whiles here you will enjoy close up look at this hardworking fishermen. Watch these fishermen sing enchanting songs of the sea as they work from small wooden boats. Learn firsthand skills on how they cast their nets and reel in their catch.

From Jamestown we will visit Makola market where you get to showcase your bargaining skills like a pro. Visit the Arts center and watch the production of weaving baskets as well as other artifacts.

Later in the day, we will visit and learn about the history of Gold Coast and Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade at the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, Independence Square as well as Pan African culture at the W.E.B. DuBois Centre. In the evening, our guest will get introduced to local Ghanaian music and drumming.


Day 3: Volta Region 1

Start the day with a visit to Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary. Enjoy your time at this community based ecotourism project established in 1993. The sanctuary is home to Mona and Patas monkeys. Later in the day we drive to Amedzofe which is Ghana's highest settlement. It is located on Mountain Gemi at an altitude of 750m above sea level.


Day 4: Volta Region 2

Enjoy mountain hiking to the top of Mountain Afadjato, highest mountain in Ghana peaking at an elevation of 885 metres (2,904 ft) above sea level. Afterwards we shall proceed to Wli waterfalls, West Africa's highest falls. It pours from the upper falls at an altitude of 143 metres to the lower falls and plunge pool. Whiles here, guest can enjoy swimming in the pool beneath the waterfalls.


Day 5: Ashanti Region, Kumasi 1

We will visit Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Ashanti monarch since 1924 and located in Kumasi. Take a tour around this historical site as well as the museum to see relics of Ashanti culture and tradition. From here we shall proceed to see the unmovable sword of the famous priest called Okomfo Anokye. This sword is believed to be the symbol of unity between Ashantis and Nzema. A stroll through the Kejetia open market, West Africa's largest single market with over 10,000 stalls shall climax the day's activities.


Day 6 Northern Region, Mole National Park 1

Before entering the park, we make our first stop at Larabanga to see the beautiful ancient Mosque which is the oldest in the country and among the oldest in West Africa. We then continue our journey to Mole National Park from Larabanga. Our guests are checked into the beautiful and serene mole hotel with swimming pool overlooking watering holes where most of the animals come to drink water and have their bath. After lunch is served, guests are taken out for the afternoon drive safari to see the various animals in the park. Wildlife to be seen include the African elephants, antelopes of various species, baboons, monkeys and lots of colourful birds. When we return from safari, our guests take a rest after a day of fun and sightseeing at poolside and enjoy the beautiful sunset.


Day 7 Mole National Park 2

This is a fully packed fan activities day. The day begins with a morning drive or walk safari depending on the choice of our guest. Breakfast is served after the morning safari and guest prepares for another exciting trip to Mognori. At Mognori, the activities start with a canoe safari on the Mole River and a walk in the community to learn about the culture of the people. Still at Mognori, our guests are treated to a cultural dance from the community folks before heading back to the park to rest and enjoy the beautiful sunset at the hotel.


Day 8 Upper East Region, Bolgatanga

Point 1

Leave Mole National Park and head to the Paga Crocodile Pond in the Upper East region of Ghana to see the West African Crocodile. Here our guest enjoy memorable experience from posing with these agile reptiles to even riding on their backs whiles taking photographs with crocodiles in their natural habitat.  These crocodiles are believed to be housing the souls of the community folks in Paga. Hence, they are revered as sacred and so no one harms them.


 Point 2

On our way back from Paga, we make a stop at Sirigu, a local community near Bolgatanga to see pottery art works resulting from relentless pursuit of a retired teacher, Mama Melanie. Her efforts together with those of other 54 women has led to the revival of this local industry and helping to curb exodus of women into the cities  of Ghana in pursuit of greener pastures. You will be thrilled to seeing locally made ceramic pots and vases with patterns scored on them using pebbles. You will also find beautiful paintings on mud houses as well as on canvas. Not only does this wonderful work of art promote their culture, it also boosts their family income streams particularly for women, thereby, empowering women to be independent.


Point 3

We now head back to the Bolgatanga Township and into the daily market where our guest can have a feel of the hustle and bustle of the market women warmly welcoming customers to their sheds. Here our guest can also try their bargaining skills with these market women in an attempt to get locally made goods like the famous Bolga straw hats, baskets and weaved artifacts at the lowest prices possible.


Day 9 Ashanti Region Kumasi 2

The day starts with a visit to Adinkra village at Ntonso. Adinkra is a system of symbols similar to the Egyptian hieroglyphics with which Ashantis culture and traditions are embedded. Later in day, we visit the Kente weaving village at Bonwire to watch the manual production of Kente cloth from the loom. Kente is the traditional cloth of Ashantis which can be worn casually but usually for important occasions. You can also participate in weaving your first Kente cloth together with the local weavers.


Day 10 Central Region Cape Coast

Your guide after breakfast will take you on a joyful drive to Ghana's former capital town, Cape coast. Upon arriving in Cape Coast, you will visit the Cape Coast castle where resident guides will take you through heart touching tour of this historical 16th century building established by the Portuguese as a trading post and later housed slaves awaiting to be shipped to the Americas. You will also visit the Elmina castle and learn about the history of this Trans-Atlantic slave hub. Later in the day, your guide will drive you to Kakum National Park where you will go through the 350 metre long and 30 metres high canopy walkway which provides treetop views of vast rainforest within this area. You also enjoy the sight of birds and beautiful butterflies whiles in this park. Our guests are taken to their hotel in Cape Coast after the day's trip.


Day 11 Western Region Koforidua

Leave Cape coast for Nzulezu and enjoy the later part of the journey on canoe through lush wetlands to reach the village of Nzulezu. Nzulezu is a community built on stilts on a lagoon. Whiles here, we will visit the chief compound and make a tour on this 'floating' community. Later visit Busua Beach Resort for relaxation. Enjoy the sandy beach, swimming and water sports whiles at the resort.


Day 12 Back to Accra

Leave Busua to Accra. When we arrive in Accra our guest can make last minute shopping whiles preparing for departure. Our guide and guest say final goodbyes at the Kotoka International Airport to climax this wonderful and unforgettable experience.
